Dynamic Line-up Announced for Washington Conference Next Month

Rep. Mark Kirk (R-IL) is among the confirmed presenters who will address AED member executives attending the Government Affairs Conference, April 14-15. Kirk, a member of the House Appropriations Committee, is also the Republican Senate candidate in Illinois–one of the most competitive Senate races in the country.

AED’s Washington office released the preliminary confirmed agenda last week. Registration for the event is complimentary at www.aednet.org/government/gac. Attendees pay their own travel and lodging expenses, and some meals. Spouses are welcome to attend this event, as well.
 
Deadline for hotel reservations through AED is this Friday, March 12.


Other confirmed speakers are:
  • Rep. John Barrow (D-GA) – A member of the House Energy & Commerce Committee and leading member of the moderate House Blue Dog Democrat Coalition
  • Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-OR) – A member of the tax-writing Ways and Means member and Congress’ leading advocate for increased water infrastructure investment
  • Bruce Josten – Executive Vice President for Government Affairs, U.S. Chamber of Commerce
  • Nick Yaksich – Vice President for Global Public Policy, Association of Equipment Manufacturers
  • Pam Whitted – Vice President for Government Affairs, National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association
In addition to learning the status on numerous policies affecting the construction equipment distribution industry, attendees are provided with an entire afternoon to meet with their own representatives, senators, and their congressional staffs.

The conference includes receptions on the John Deere Washington Office roof deck and at the new U.S. Capitol Visitors Center.
