Hugg & Hall Equipment Company to Acquire Arkla Taylor

Hugg & Hall Equipment Company recently announced the acquisition of Arkla Taylor, a Taylor Forklift dealer encompassing a five-state area including Louisiana, Arkansas, East Texas, Oklahoma and Southern Missouri.

Founded in 1981 and headquartered in Ruston, La., Arkla Taylor is a regional dealer for Taylor Machine Works, the manufacturer of Taylor “Big Red” forklifts.  Arkla Taylor rents and sells new and used equipment and provides parts and service for the Taylor product lines. In addition to its Ruston headquarters, Arkla Taylor has locations in Blytheville and El Dorado in Arkansas; Broussard and Houma in Louisiana; Longview and Lufkin in Texas; and Tulsa in Oklahoma. Arkla Taylor serves a broad customer base in the lumber, forestry, oil & gas, steel, pipe, prestressed concrete, and freight handling industries, as well as other markets requiring a large lift capacity, usually in demanding industrial and construction settings.

In making the announcement, John Hugg, Hugg & Hall’s chairman, commented: “Taylor Industrial forklifts are known for their quality and durability. Arkla Taylor, like Hugg & Hall, is totally committed to providing the highest level of customer satisfaction. We think that the alliance of these two organizations, Hugg & Hall and Arkla Taylor, will be very positive for our combined customer base. Robert Hall, Hugg & Hall’s president, added: “Adding Arkla Taylor’s products, people and locations to the Hugg & Hall family is very exciting for our company.”

George Parkman, Arkla Taylor’s founder and president, stated: “I’ve enjoyed my 30 years of growing this business and having the opportunity to meet and know so many great people in such a diversity of industries.  This company has grown because of the help of many outstanding and dedicated employees.  I am very pleased that Arkla Taylor will continue on in the hands of a highly respected family owned company.  We will continue to serve the needs of our customers as we have in the past providing the same Taylor products and service from the same locations and with the same customer oriented commitment.”

Hugg & Hall Equipment Company, headquartered in Little Rock, Ark., is a leading dealer for Toyota forklifts and Volvo construction equipment in the state of Arkansas.  Hugg & Hall provides sales, rentals, parts and service for a variety of new and used equipment for many industry leading brands, as well as mobile mini storage.  Prior to the Arkla Taylor acquisition, Hugg & Hall had eight locations throughout Arkansas in Little Rock, Camden, Conway, El Dorado, Fort Smith, Jonesboro, Springdale and Texarkana.
